MUSEUM VOLUNTEER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - SUMMARY
Museum Volunteer - Southeast Asian Ceramics Museum (SEACM), Bangkok University from April 2004 to May 2018 - duties and responsibilities summary:

Contributor to Museum Newsletter, and Newsletter editorial staff.

Exhibitions – provide support and expertise to Assistant Curators, as required, for planning and preparation of Exhibitions. Edit English language exhibition text for announcements; signage, posters, and scholarly papers prepared in association with Exhibitions.

Support Museum Director and Assistant Curators – provide information and expertise on broad range of developments and factual information in areas of Southeast Asian and Chinese wares, shipwreck ceramics, and trade wares. Edit text and contribute to content for English language version of scholarly papers prepared in field of Southeast Asian ceramics.

Research – conduct Research Field Trips (Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand) to study and research latest shipwreck and trade ceramic discoveries and developments; prepare reports and accompanying photos for publication in the Museum Newsletter and/or adding to the Southeast Asian Ceramics Museum Shipwreck Data Base (all expenses for airfare, lodging, meals for my own account and paid for by me).

Language Instruction – provide English language instruction to Museum staff.

Foreign Visitors – as required, assist in greeting and acting as Museum guide for foreign visitors.

Broad experience and in-depth knowledge acquired over an extended period enables positive contribution to the Southeast Asian Ceramics Museum vision, goals, and objectives.

PHAN WARES STUDY COLLECTION SHARDS (28) consisting of a variety of base, rim, and side shards from various plates, dishes, jarlets, jars, bowls, cups, and a lamp. Provenance: Phan - Pong Daeng (San Tad) kiln sites surface finds, acquired at the kiln sites in the vicinity of Muang Phan in Chiang Rai Province, Northern Thailand.
